Want to learn to dance but not sure where to start? Our beginner dance classes at Bunbury Dance Club are designed for complete beginners, so you don’t need any previous dance experience to join.
Learn Ballroom, Latin and New Vogue dancing in a relaxed and welcoming environment with experienced, qualified dance teachers. Whether you want to learn for fun, meet new people, feel more confident on the dance floor or eventually progress into medal exams or competitions, we’ll help you get started.
Your first class is FREE, so you can come along and give dancing a try with no commitment.
You don’t need a partner to join our beginner classes, and you don’t need to know any steps before you arrive. We regularly welcome people who have never danced before.
Classes introduce a variety of popular dances, which may include Waltz, Cha Cha, Jive, Samba, Slow Rhythm and other Ballroom, Latin and New Vogue dances. You’ll learn the basic steps, timing, partnering and technique at a comfortable pace, with plenty of opportunity to practise.
There’s no pressure to be perfect and no expectation that you already know what you’re doing. Our aim is to make learning to dance enjoyable from your very first lesson.
You can join simply for the fun and social side of dancing, or use your beginner classes as the first step towards further training, medal exams and competition dancing.
Our classes are taught by Jack Johnson and Joanne de Jager, qualified Ballroom dance coaches and adjudicators with extensive competitive and teaching experience in Australia and internationally.
Beginner students also have the opportunity to put what they’ve learned into practice at our regular social dancing. It’s a great way to practise your steps, dance with different people and become more confident on the dance floor while enjoying the social side of the club.
Come along to Bunbury Dance Club and discover how enjoyable learning to dance can be.
Your first beginner class is FREE. No partner required, complete beginners are welcome, and you can join at any time.
